The hospitality was outstanding and fully met the principles of the hotel’s Japanese name. The owner is attentive, personal and gave extremely helpful information including the location of restaurants across a range of budgets which met expectations. We liked the visibility of the investment into a trainee staff programme. The welcome was wonderful and the first night turn down service with chocolates added a special touch. We ate dinner several times and thought the Asian food was well presented, generously portioned and delicious. There are Japanese snacks available too. The ambience by the pool is lovely. Thank you for the complementary mosquito repellent. The a la carte menu choices for breakfast provided many options; the French toast looked amazing! The croissants were excellent. Repeated portions were offered. The fresh green tea was excellent although we missed American coffee at breakfast. We enjoyed browsing and purchasing amongst the local artisan gifts including pepper and woven items often selected for sustainability. It’s a nice touch. We browsed the book library too. They have a spa room and a local, commissioned service which offered a range of treatments into the late evening which is helpful after long days of sightseeing. The room was airy and the shower was very hot! The coffee machine was a bonus. There is plenty of shade for lounging during the day either under the 3 cabanas or in the garden. We booked Khmer Tuk tuks and taxis via the hotel; both were efficient. The location of the hotel is convenient for visiting Choeung Ek; you will need transport for more central sights. Bear in mind that traffic in Phnom Penh can easily gridlock at peak times so ask advice when planning transfers. The access road to the hotel is guarded due to the proximity to local embassies resulted in a very quiet street. The birdsong in the garden is beautiful and we appreciated the bird spotting guide. We would definitely stay again.

(I stayed here twice before and after going to Siem Reap/Angkor Wat, so this is the same review as before:) I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will plan on staying there if I'm in Phnom Penh again. It was an oasis of peace in a dusty rugged town. It was "noisy" with the cries of probably a dozen kinds of birds, which made you feel you were in the middle of a jungle, not an ugly city. The pool was FANTASTIC! It was what we dreamed of during the day when out and about in 104˚F/40˚C with 99% humidity... it was the image of a man crawling on the desert sands seeing a mirage of a cool stream of water. Now let's get to the food. Fabulous! Menu was varied and authentic. And the Japanese food like gyōza餃子and the Japanese breakfast 和朝食 was straight out of Tōkyō and Ōsaska. Best gyōza I've had outside of Japan. The sincere attentiveness and politeness of the staff bordered on obsequious. They all were fabulous as well. We could see all this as due to the efforts and attention-to-detail of the Japanese owner, Mr. Kuroda. He greeted guests, made sure everything was run efficiently, and was always available for tips and help. The hotel was up to Japanese standards for sure. Even the fruit juice, fresh fruit and raw vegetables we were able to eat in confidence with his assurances that they were washed carefully in purified water. That made for much wider options for dining. Coffee was excellent and the staff could make a mean cappuccino or espresso, which we valued greatly in the morning! The bed was COMFORTABLE! One of the best beds we've had at a hotel!! One of the waiters, Mr. Ben, told us about and then showed us how to use the app "Grab" for hailing tuk-tuks, giving us the peace of mind of an agreed upon price, not worrying about language barriers, and the safety of knowing what tuk-tuk driver was coming to pick us up. This is a fabulous hotel in every respect.

The staff were incredible, nothing was any trouble and they went out of their way to help us every time as UK traveller’s. Tiara is an absolute superstar when it comes to customer service and would be an asset to any other organisation or business. All other staff were absolutely fantastic, well mannered, more than competent in hospitality and very on the ball. Nothing was too much trouble for them. At one point, we needed to change our flights and Tiara was more than helpful in helping us with the change by conversing on the phone with the airline on our behalf for more than 1 hour! Furthermore, we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner every day there and all was delicious. My travelling companion was also completely overwhelmed and very emotional to receive an in house made birthday cake and presentation by all the staff, who also sang Happy Birthday to her. Every evening the staff presented our dressing gowns on our beds with flowers and little touches like chocolates. I have to say, the service and attention to detail was just brilliant! Another was, since we were very much liked by mosquitoes, (regardless of how much gin and tonic we drank) we were even given anti mosquito spray and medicated cream when we did unfortunately get bitten (sweet blooded as we seem to be) Massive credit to Iroha Garden Resort!

Everything went well; the hotel is in a wonderful quiet location, absolutely beautiful grounds and pool; the customer service was incredible, the staff and owner could not have been more helpful. I had a computer problem which potentially would have ruined to some extent my holiday in Cambodia because of work related issues. The owner of the hotel bent over backwards to help me out and solved the problem for me. Just amazing ! My bedroom was beyond my expectations. So so beautiful.. I felt immediately at home in the hotel and without a single doubt, I will be coming back to visit this hotel the next time I holiday in Cambodia. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is planning to stay in Phnom Penh.
